Archive Pop-up Promotional Material

2022, promotional material design

The promotional material for the archive pop-up event organised by YUME YUME, Margreeth Olsthoorn and Almost Not Done was designed to showcase the unique nature of the misfits and samples sold at the event, as well as to embody the identity of the collaborating brands.

Understandably, the major requirement of the design brief was to attract customers of YUME YUME, the main organiser of the event, and invite them to attend, meaning the visual material needed to communicate the idea and the focus of the sample sale accordingly.

After researching the locations of the events (Margreeth Olsthoorn and multiple identities stores) we decided to create a promotional material using a minimalist design approach while also emphasising raw, industrial charcteristics of the locations, as well as, imperfections of the sold shoe samples.

Multiple visual directions containing abstract 3D modelling as well as custom font design had been explored before deciding on the most appropriate strategy. After the experimental stage of the creative process, I agreed to use more concrete visual elements to attract a higher number of potential attendees with the art director. A design process then consisted of scanning actual shoe samples, which resulted in a series of visuals, while the most interesting ones were further edited and completed by the brand typographic elements. These were applied to the designs of promotional posters, digital invite, newsletter, social media posts, vinyl stickers, postcards, and price tags.

The promotional material gained positive feedback from agents and customers that attended the sample sale.
