The series of posters titled Perfektmess has been designed in response to the Festival Fjúžn’s 2021 open call. The theme of this years‘ open call was to discover the demonstrations of diversity in the everyday life of the Slovak society.
In my work I, therefore, tried to capture the diversity, complexity and intersectioning of the Slovak contemporary society, with the intention to point out to the similarities between its seemingly different counterparts-us, humans.
The project takes inspiration from my own creative practice, mostly focused on the exploration and examination of my identity and its positioning within the context of the Slovak culture, in which I became interested during my undergraduate studies.
The development process of the project was centred around the design of collages, utilising the images of people found across different Slovak magazines and newspapers. The collages were consequently used when creating the actual designs of the individual posters. The reason for this was due to my ambition to include and represent a wide range of different people while aiming to capture a somewhat complete image of the Slovak contemporary society.
All of the utilised photographs were assembled into visual compositions, where the individual human body parts initially seem to be visually disconnected and almost disharmonic, but in reality reflect the diverse society we live in.
Perfketmess is therefore trying to suggest that despite all the pre-supposed differences of our earthly remains, our elementary human essence is in fact the same, which makes any apparent differences turn into similarities instead.
