A short publication titled Pub-lica-tion collates the selection of critical writing and exhibition reviews produced by Kingston University’s Art & Design History and Practice students, seeking for an effective, minimalist design solution in order to make the provided writings stand out.
Successful design execution of the project in response to the brief on a low budget required an experimentation with suitable colours, typefaces, stock and format.
For the final execution, the text became accompanied by the key images selected by the students themselves, reflecting the content of the writing without distracting the reader too much, by implementing the images directly into the text area.
The selected format as well as the contrasting colour pallete was proven to be an effective solution and received positive feedback from both the tutors as well as the readers across different creative courses.
